The Centre: training people for careers that have a future.

Since 1989, The Centre has been recruiting and training high quality, career-oriented individuals to help meet the Skilled Trades needs of Halton and area businesses.

Customized company-specific pre-apprenticeship training programs:

• Every year, The Centre partners with local companies to address their workforce development needs

• Companies are involved in intake and recruitment, monitor student progress throughout in-class training, and hire successful students for paid placement and permanent employment

• Fee-based programs based on company needs train students in residential and commercial construction, electrical, millwright/precision machining

• All in-class portions of the program are delivered in fully-equipped technical shops and classrooms at The Centre for Skills Development & Training

• Students are employer-ready with essential skills training, certificates in Standard First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, and with a full set of tools, safety boots, safety glasses, and hard hats

Community-based Skilled Trades Training programs:

• Industry-standard fee-based programs train students in residential and commercial construction, electrical, millwright/precision machining

• All in-class portions of the program are delivered in fully-equipped technical shops and classrooms at The Centre for Skills Development & Training

• Last year, The Centre trained more than 200 pre-apprenticeship students
