1. What are the qualifications of the instructors?
Our instruction teams have the certificate of qualification in their trade, 10 years plus experience, and train the trainer training.

2. What are the marks or grades required to graduate?
To successfully complete the in-class portion of our program you need to have a 70% average in the course work.

3. Are additional or make-up exams allowed, if necessary?
Make-up exams can be completed at the discretion of the instructors.

4. If I disagree with a mark or grade, is there an appeals process?
There is no formal appeals process; however, the nature of trade programs lend themselves to more objective marking.

5. How long has this program been offered at this school?
10 years

6. What type of work placements do the students acquire?
Our work placement team helps the students to find jobs in their field of study.

7. What type employers have hired previous graduates of this training program?
The employers range from large international organizations to smaller independent companies.

8. How many time units is this program broken up into?
The programs are modularized following a common 1st year for trades. Each day is broken into 50% in-class, and 50% in the shop training.

9. Is this training program fixed, or is it possible to develop an individualized or customized training program?
The curriculum is set, however our small class sizes allow for some individual customization. If you feel you would need more individualized training please contact us before your program starts.

10. Is it possible for a student to gain credit or exemption for one or more components of this training program if he/she has prior related knowledge or experience? If so, what is the process involved?
No, it is required that all students demonstrate knowledge of the course material in class.

11. Is a High School Diploma or a GED required for admission to this training program?
A High School Diploma is not required. Students who have not completed their HSD or GED may be eligible for some High School credits as a result of completing this program.

12. Will I be required to get a medical check, criminal check, or driver’s abstract before starting this training program? Or, before a field placement? Or, before gaining the associated license(s), credential(s), or certification(s)?
Not for the in-class portion of the program, however, an employer may require that the student meet some of the noted criteria for the job placement portion of the program.

13. What are the costs for necessary certification exams (if applicable)? Are these costs included or are they extra?
The only cost for this program is the tuition. There may be costs for certification beyond the pre-apprenticeship training.

14. Must additional supplies be purchased through this school?
Additional supplies are not necessary; the tuition cost includes books, tools, and personal protective equipment.

15. Are the Instructors of this training program evaluated? If so, how often?
Yes, once per term.

16. Is the course content of this training program evaluated? If so, how often?
Yes, every year we follow the standardized assessment system created by the Ministry of Education which covers 4 key areas: Communication, Knowledge, Thinking, and Application.

17. What is the diploma/certificate earned from this program?
Upon completion of our programs students will receive a certificate of completion and a transcript which indicates their achievement in each subject along with class hours completed.

18. What is the Student-Teacher ratio?
Each class has a maximum of 20 students and 1 or more instructors for a student teacher ratio ranging from 10:1 to 20:1.

19. Describe assignments in addition to regular class work.
There are some assignments outside of regular class work that represent trade specific theory based learning in order to prepare students for upcoming classes.

20. What instructional methods are used?
The instructional methods for each class are 50% hands on learning and 50% in-class verbal instruction.

21. What accommodations are available for special needs?
Accommodations are based on individual needs.
