CNC Operator / Machinist Training

Machinists interpret drawings and determine the best way to produce a part by selecting the appropriate raw material and performing necessary calculations. They also make the parts using the appropriate measuring equipment and machine tools. The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) component of this program will instruct students on the fundamentals of using and troubleshooting CNC to produce a part according to predetermined specifications.

Graduates of this training program will have received in-class instruction and “hands-on” training by qualified instructors in the following subjects:

  • Machine Tools and Hand Tools
  • Measurement
  • Mathematics
  • Blueprint Reading
  • Machine Theory
  • Safety Training (WHMIS, Fall Arrest, Hilti Training)
  • Machine Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programming
  • CNC Downloading
  • CNC Setup and Operation

This is a full-time 20 week program that runs Mon. through Thurs. 4-9:30 pm and is offered exclusively in our Burlington location.
