Getting settlement information all in one place at The Centre

A family came to The Centre to inquire about services for newcomers. They had recently moved to Milton from Brampton. After assessing the family, the Settlement Information Specialist (SIS) was able to determine their needs--they needed to find jobs in their fields of expertise. The SIS referred them to Job Search Workshops (JSW) and Enhanced Language Training Your Way (ELTYW) programs, and answered many of their questions regarding their immigration status, including Permanent Resident card renewal. They family was thrilled to receive such information and service because they had thought they would need to visit many different places and people to get all the information they required. These clients were able to use The Centre as “a one-stop-shop” to address all their needs.
