Skilled Trades Training / Upgrading

With more than 50% of skilled trades workers preparing for retirement within the next 15 years, and not nearly enough people currently entering the trades, Ontario, like the rest of Canada, is facing a severe shortage of workers in the skilled trades.

At The Centre, we have been recruiting and training high quality, career oriented individuals to help meet this shortage for over 15 years. By combining extensive in-class instruction in trades theory with practical, hands-on, shop floor training and a solid foundation in employability skills, our skilled trades pre-apprenticeship graduates are “work ready” and “ready to work” with:

• Realistic work expectations
  
  
• Their own industry standard tools
  
  
• 300 hours of theory including Trade Calculations, Safety, CPR and First Aid training
  
  
• 300 hours of “hands-on”, in shop, practical skills development
  
  
• Specialization in either Construction, Electrical, Precision Machining and Tooling or Industrial Mechanics (Millwrighting)
