Conquering the Behavioural Interview

Speaker: Rose Alcamo
Time: 9:30 - 11:30 am
Location: Oakville

Canadian employers now embrace the Behavioural Interview as their interviewing tool of choice.

Why is it popular? The behavioural approach boasts a better than 50% chance of predicting a candidate’s ability to do the job. When contrasted against the traditional interview (an estimated 14% probability), the choice is irresistible.

Rose a tenured Re-employment Coach, will share her unique strategy for surviving the rigorous behavioural interview. Rose holds a professional certification in Human Resources Management from the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario. She has over 20 years in HR consulting and her experiences includes:

  • Consulting for Corporate
  • Executive coaching supporting professionals in pursuit of new employment
  • Part-time Business Professor where she taught accredited HRM studies to adult learners and business professionals who seek their CHRP designation.

Based on the belief that “past behaviour predicts future behaviour”, employers ask very specific questions, requiring equally specific answers that must be based on your actual work experience. If you haven’t had this specific experience, or worse, you simply cannot think of it, you fail that question. There is no forgiveness or flexibility, only more behavioural questions! Even the most qualified candidate will fail the interview without proper preparation.

The good news; job seekers need not despair; Knowledge is Power
