New course helps electricians prepare for license exam

If you were writing an exam and already knew what the layout, topics, and structure of it would be, wouldn’t you feel more confident about passing it – or even acing it?

Then, the new preparation and refresher course to prepare for the Electrical Certificate of Qualification may be for you!

The Centre for Skills Development & Training in Burlington is offering a 10-week course starting Saturday, September 22. It is intended to prepare electrical apprentices to write the 309A Construction and Maintenance license exam and to refresh existing certified electricians on the updated use of the Electrical Code and trade practices. Taking this course will allow the participant to get an understanding of what to expect from the exam – both in content and layout.

Topics covered in the course include: basic trade practices, transformers and electrical services, branch circuit wiring, motors and motor controls, PLC, electronics, extra-low voltage systems, troubleshooting and electrical upgrading.

Taught by Matthew Curtis, Electrical Instructor and Master Electrician from The Centre for Skills Development & Training, this course is offered exclusively at The Bay Area Learning Centre, 860 Harrington Court, off Harvester Road, in Burlington.
