Career Explorations Comes to Mississauga

Mississauga, ON - The Centre for Skills Development & Training (The Centre) is proud to announce the launch of a dynamic new, Mississauga based, career focus program for unemployed adults; Career Explorations – Mississauga.

Modelled after The Centre’s extremely successful, Burlington based, Career Explorations program, this NO FEE, three-week program helps unemployed adults refine and refocus their career and employment objectives by combining personality, interest and aptitude assessments with the guidance and support of a certified Employment Counsellor. To help ensure that each client achieves his/her objectives after they leave the program, each client also receives support in developing a detailed, step-by-step, post-program “Action Plan”.

“We’re very excited about being able to bring Career Explorations to Mississauga,” says Kathy Mills, The Centre’s Chief Administrative Officer. “For over 12 years now, this program has added tremendous value to the lives of our Burlington clients. As someone who lives in and has very close ties to the Mississauga community, I was thrilled when we were asked about the possibility of bringing Career Explorations to Mississauga. This is a rapidly growing community and there is a definite need for an employment focus program such as this one. We’re looking forward to being able to meet this need and are very confident that Career Explorations will have as strong an impact on the lives of Mississauga residents as it has had on those of our Burlington clients.”

The Centre’s new Mississauga office is located at 33 City Centre Drive, right next door to the Square One shopping centre in the heart of Mississauga's City Centre. It is easily accessible from both the 403 highway and Mississauga Public Transit with regular business hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. To ensure an effective balance between individualized attention and effective group dynamics, the program is limited to just 15 participants per three week session with new sessions starting every 3 weeks.
