The Centre Commits To Corporate
Development Services!
Burlington,
ON - The Centre for Skills Development & Training (The
Centre) announced today that it has taken a critical first step in
building a dedicated Corporate Development Services department to meet the
training and development needs of businesses and organizations in the
Halton and area community.
Deborah Dennison, a highly regarded local entrepreneur and corporate
trainer, has been hired by The Centre for its newly created position of
Manager, Corporate Development Services. With over 25 years of business
start up and management experience and a background in corporate training,
Dennison will lead the growth and development of The Centre's newest
department.
"Corporate Development Services is a key component of our new strategic
positioning as specialists in career and workforce development," said Kathy
Mills, Chief Administrative Officer of The Centre. "Because of its
importance, both to our clients and to our organization, we were looking for
someone with a keen understanding of the needs of the corporate community, a
solid background in the design and delivery of corporate training and
extensive experience with business start up and management. Deborah brings
all of this and more to the position and we're very excited to have her on
board," says Mills.
Although The Centre has been providing corporate training
for several years and has worked with a number of well-known
companies including Ford Canada, Hamilton Health Sciences
and Dofasco, corporate training has not previously been
a tactical focus. With its new strategic positioning,
The Centre’s Corporate Development Services department
will leverage off of The Centre’s core strengths
and its breadth of experience gained over the course
of its 15-year history by providing customizable training
solutions in the areas of Management and Supervisory
Skills Development, Human Resource Management, Information
Technology, Soft Skills Development and the Skilled
Trades. It will also offer “Training Enhancement”
service for companies looking to tidy up and repackage
their own existing, in-house training materials.
