CentrePiece: Message from the CAO
October 14, 2009
Join us at two job fairs this October!
Are you heading out to a job fair in the near future?
So are we! Here at The Centre, we take every opportunity to be out in the community, talking to people who may be looking for employment or researching training programs. This October, you’ll find us at two excellent events that are designed to help individuals achieve their career and training goals.
Face to Face Employment & Training Fair
Face to Face is a one-stop shop for individuals to connect with potential employers, trainers and employment service providers. It’s being held on Thursday, October 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Convention Centre, 1 Summers Lane in downtown Hamilton. Nearly 3,000 people are expected to attend this free event to meet with employers who are hiring, speak to representatives from training institutions, and hear from experts on career planning and job search. Drop by one of The Centre’s two booths to talk to us about our pre-apprenticeship programs or our full suite of employment services.

Apprenticeship Career Connections
This popular event, being held on October 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the International Centre in Mississauga, is geared towards young people, newcomers to Canada, and people who have been laid off or are looking for a second career. Apprenticeship Career Connections was brought to life by the Peel Halton Workforce Development Group. The Centre will be joining hundreds of colleges, training institutions, unions, associations and employers to help people get on track to an apprenticeship.
